A California native, Sam grew up in Los Angeles County. He was content there until he visited his son and fell in love with the Grass Valley area. He initially was a licensed insurance agent, selling Health, Life, Casualty and Fire insurance, where he received numerous awards in sales and customer service. He also worked in the real estate mortgage business which led to the natural transition to selling real estate. “Leaving Los Angeles was one of the best life decisions as I left behind the hectic, congested city life. Nevada County was exactly what I’d dreamed of….peace and tranquility that still brings me joy. Showing and selling property allows me to share this quality of life to the clients I serve.”

I’m always there for my clients, even after the sale.” Sam is diligent in searching out his client’s special property – however long it takes! Having worked in the restaurant business many years ago, Sam learned to hustle, be patient and to speak fluent Spanish. Of course, a little Spanish help from his grandmother didn’t hurt either. His bi-lingual skill has been most beneficial to his Spanish-speaking clients.
Sam’s personal motto, “Always do your best” is demonstrated by his dedication to his work life and his private life. In addition to his high standards as a real estate agent, Sam has high standards about exercise and health. He and his wife, Wanda, recently opened Harmony Fitness Studio in Grass Valley where they teach others to maintain a healthy lifestyle. On any day off, you can catch Sam “shooting hoops” on his own half-court at home or instructing cycling and TRX strength training. He especially enjoys time with his grandkids, who are a big part of his life. Additionally, Sam has counseled inmates at the Nevada County jail over the last 15 years and has learned to appreciate people from all walks of life.
