Coldwell Banker Grass Roots Realty (CBGRR) recently coordinated a parking lot sale for the benefit of Paige Lyon, a young lady in desperate need of spinal surgery to correct her scoliosis. Paige, a 14 year-old native Nevada County resident, is the daughter of CBGRR’s IT & Marketing Consultant, Chad Lyon. Chad has been with CBGRR since the late 1990’s, and our entire team has had the pleasure of watching Paige grow into a beautiful young woman. Unfortunately, just in the past two years, she has experienced a tremendously painful (emotional and physical) situation as her spine continues to twist and turn. Paige is in immediate need of surgery to correct her spine, and her insurance is not covering any of the fees. The cost of the hospital, medical staff, hardware, and associated fees are estimated to be in the neighborhood of $150,000.
The team at CBGRR decided to put their heads together and come up with some different ways to raise funds to help this family. The first fundraiser was a parking lot sale with items donated from nearly every associate and staff member of CBGRR. This was a one day, five hour event, that raised in excess of $6,000. However, this is a long way from the fundraising goal of $150,000 so another event is scheduled for Saturday, June 24.
The upcoming fundraiser is a family friendly event being held from 2-7 p.m. on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at Gold Country Gymnastics, 900 Golden Gate Terrace in Grass Valley. Some of the events scheduled are: open gym for kids 10 and under, dance classes for all ages including Piyo, Hip Hop, Latin, Yoga, and Fusion, the band Achilles Wheel, beverages from ol’ Republic Brewery and local wineries, and food from multiple food trucks. We will have a booth with LuLaRoe clothing and an amazing silent auction with generous donations from vendors and local businesses such as a vintage runabout boat, a trip to Hawaii, health and beauty services, flooring, clothing, wine, jewelry, electronics, and so much more!
The cost of entrance is $15 for general admission, $10 for children 2-10, and free for children under 2. The food and beverages are an additional cost. ALL proceeds will go directly to Paige’s account for her upcoming surgery scheduled for August 16, 2017.
