Amber Thompson, agent with Coldwell Banker Grass Roots Penn Valley office, was named REALTOR® of the Year at Nevada County Association of REALTORS®’ Wild West Installation celebration recently held at the Alta Sierra Country Club. The distinguished award recognizes an individual REALTOR® who exemplifies the exceptional professional image, character and integrity held to the highest standards of the National Association of REALTORS® Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice. Amber Thompson has been living in Nevada County for over 30 years and is involved in the community at many levels. She is a top producer and is committed to providing professional care for clients and transactions while giving back to the REALTOR® organization and community at large. She helped initiate the REALTOR® Tech Fair over six years ago and this event had become a trademark event for the organization. She is passionate about providing housing for our community and about the importance of property rights and homeownership. Her passion for placing people in homes led her to promote community partnerships with the Contractors Association, local organizations, County and State Association of REALTORS® to achieve affective changes in housing. She helped create organize the NC Build Fair and the Building Community Together Booth at the NC Home & Garden Show. Most recently, she put a Let’s Grow Homeownership program together, completed an application process and received a $50,000 grant from the California Association of REALTORS® Housing Affordability Fund to provide first time homebuyers with $1,000 grants when purchasing their new home. This program has helped educate buyers on the importance of the REALTORS® in their real estate transactions.
