Nevada City Hosts Festive Parade & Celebration Sept. 10-11

The 50th Annual Nevada City Constitution Day Parade tops a full weekend of family fun Sept. 10-11 in this colorful Gold Rush town. Nevada City’s Constitution Day Parade has been a local tradition since 1967 and has been reported to be the oldest and largest Constitution observance in western America.

Nevada City’s own Alexander Rossi, winner of the 2016 Indianapolis 500, is a special guest in this year’s parade, which rolls down Broad Street at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 11. The parade features about 80 entries and caps a number of other activities including Revolutionary War living history, a duck race down the rapids of Deer Creek, and a free outdoor big band concert.
